History creates dialogues for ancient and modern.

John Dodd, a British Scot, visited Taiwan for the first time in 1860 and conducted market research about Chinese tea. The exceptional taste of Chinese tea raised a trading idea in John’s mind. As a result, Dodd & Co. was founded.

In 1866, John brought oolong tea seeds from Anxi, Fujian Province and initiated the mechanization of tea cooking. The first batch of smoked oolong was shipped and sold to Macao, which, beyond John’s expectation, became very popular. Upon such a great success, John decided to open a tea factory in Dadaocheng, which introduced the idea of refined tea to world.

John Dodd, like the sunshine of Spring, endows a bright opening for Chinese tea trading. Every batch of tea leaves tells a story about hard-working and adventure; every cup of drinks from Chunyang inherits the pursuit of freedom and dignity.
